The SCHBA was started in 1982 by beekeepers Dan King and Ernie Goodrich. Our objective is to promote scientific bee culture, improved honey marketing, and form a strong bond between honey producers in the area.

Over the years, club members have provided our communities with crop pollination and fresh honey. SCHBA maintains a presence at the Steuben County Fair, with an exhibit that includes an observation hive and honey tasting. Several members also speak, teach and write about bees, helping to educate young and old about the importance of honeybees. Others offer swarm and colony removal services.
